Tony and Sandy have been cruising on the sailing vessel Columbine,
a 39' Mariner center cockpit sloop. We started cruising on November
30, 2003 and spent 2004 exploring the Florida Keys, the Intracoastal
Waterway (ICW) of the East Coast
of the United States, and the Chesapeake Bay. In 2005 we headed
for the Bahamas & the Caribbean life. 2006 was not at all what was expected or planned. We were
unable to go back to Columbine in Trinidad: our grandson Samuel Jacob was born early,
Sandy's mother died, and Tony had cancer surgery--all in February.
There is no doubt of the Lord's work in all this: Sam is perfect,
Sandy's mother is in Glory and can breathe without struggling, and Tony
is cancer-free. We continue to be thankful for so many
blessings! We spent a great 2006 hurricane season in Trinidad &
Tobago, and loved it. We finally left Trinidad the first week of
December. The first half of 2007 we cruised slowly north
through the Eastern Caribbean islands. After a 10-day marathon sail
and 4 long days in the ICW (with a stop to see the
Atlantis shuttle launch), we docked in the St. John River in Green Cove
Springs, FL the 2nd week of June. We are working in Tampa for
2008, building the cruising kitty!
