Bahamas--2005

Page & Jessica in Georgetown

Our daughter Page & her friend Jessica visited us--we had such a great time with them!

Lunch in town

Our favorite hotel restaurant, overlooking their pool and north Elizabeth Harbour.

Are they having fun?

Can you imagine how many pictures we had to take to get this one?!

Roadside Vendor

We bought some sugar cane--it's a chewy treat.

Dinghy Dock

This is the dinghy dock in Georgetown, but it could be anywhere.

Warderick Wells south anchorage

Feb 2 '05 This is in Exuma Park--not as deserted as it looks.

Warderick Wells Cay, Exuma Park

Nature will find a way!

Pirate Lair

Warderick Wells has a great hiding place!

Boo Boo Hill

This is not a dump! Cruisers leave a momento of their boat at Warderick Wells Key, Exuma National Park.

Our remembrance

We left a ballast stone we found in Beaufort, NC, next to our friends from Caliente.

Norman Cay

Jan 27 '05 Sometimes you really have to be careful where you drop your anchor--there are plane wrecks as well as boat wrecks!

Sail shadow

This shadow is on the sand, not on the water, between 18 and 24 feet of water.

Allen Cay Anchorage

Jan 26 '05 Our first anchorage south of Nassau

Allen Cay iguanas

Allen Cay--can you count the iguanas?

Jan 27 '05

Allen Cay

Looking east toward Exuma Sound

Shroud Cay

Jan 30 '05 Following the creek through the mangrove island, looking west.

Norman Cay trail

Walking to McDuff's--they have the "Bahamas best hamburgers," but no phone or mail.

Nassau Harbor

Jan 22 Big ships come in and out day and night. We are anchored just on the other side of this dock.

Our view at anchor

What a contrast: Atlantis and all its glory, and us on the hook eating beans and franks!

Nassau street

He's on the wrong side of the road, and where are the sidewalks? Actually, drivers were very tolerant with these two gringos.

1st Bahamas sunset

On the Bahama Bank, about 10 feet deep, great trip

Land Ho--Bimini

Wreck of the Sapora

We were assured that we could see this--it's on the charts just south of Bimini

Sea State

Headed to the Bahamas, 1/21, sunrise

Last US sunset, Jan 20

Tony on top of our world.

Jan 20, 05 54 feet in the air!

Bilge storage

Lots of bilge storage

Making some adjustments
